AUBURN - The Cayuga Community College women's basketball team survived a late rally by Onondaga to come away with a 52-51 win Saturday.
The Spartans led by as many as 12 in the second half but the Lazers came back to take a one-point lead with less than a minute left. Jessica Hart (10 points, 15 rebounds) scored the winning shot with 34 seconds left. Cayuga's defense took over and held Onondaga scoreless for the remainder of the game.
Shakimba Pierre paced the Spartans with 15 points, 13 rebounds and four steals.
Jenna Pinckney had eight points (two 3-pointers), Ronica Sharpsteen had 10 rebounds and four points and Kuiona Graham added seven steals.
Cayuga (15-10, 6-5) travels to Corning on Tuesday.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Onondaga 102, Cayuga 97
Nick Boswell scored 36 points and had 20 rebounds for the Spartans.
Dashawn Coleman added 20 points, 12 boards and six assists, Brandon Gunn had 23 points and Lamin Zulu had 16 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
Cayuga (15-10, 7-4) travels to Corning on Tuesday.
