FAYETTEVILLE - The No. 6 seeded Auburn High volleyball team lost to No. 3 Fayetteville-Manlius in three sets in the Section III, Class A quarterfinals Friday night.

The Hornets defeated the Maroons 25-5, 25-11 and 25-12. Stephanie Ryan had one ace and three kills to lead Auburn. Courtney Miskell and Blair Freeman had two kills and Emily Turner had four assists.

Auburn finishes the season at 14-6.

Southern Cayuga, fourth place

HORSEHEADS - All three of the Chiefs' relays placed in the top six.

Cody Burns, Casey Burns, Cameron Lovenduski and Cody Hall combined for a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay in 1:55.27.

Lovenduski, Adam Mandel, Spencer Lawyer and Derrick Rocker were fifth in the 200 free relay in 1:47.28 and Ryan Kachnycz, Lawyer, Casey Burns and Hall were fourth in the 400 free in 3:55.20.

Hall was also sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:24.52) and fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:12.62). Casey Burns was eighth in the 50 freestyle (25.34) and the 100 freestyle (56.97).

Kachnycz was eighth in the 500 freestyle (5:53.00), Lovenduski was third in the 100 butterfly (1:01.74), and Cody Burns was fifth in the 100 backstroke (1:05.65).

Southern Cayuga competes at the Section IV, Class B prelim this Wednesday at Owego Free Academy.

SOLVAY - Todd Richardson paced the Eagles with 19 points, including three 3-pointers.

Kyle Burton added 14 points and 12 rebounds, Freddy Bush had nine points and Jeremy DeJohn had seven.
