AUBURN - Mike Lumb rolled a 735 series, including a game of 279, and both were the best scores out of 58 competitors at qualifying for the 38th annual boys Byrn's Junior Masters bowling tournament on Sunday at Starlite Lanes.

Brianna Gomez rolled a 592 series in qualifying for the 26th annual girls Byrn's Junior Masters, the best series among seven girls, and tied with Jackie Bennett with a high game of 204.
The tournament moves to Polish Falcons Lanes on Saturday at 1 p.m. for the boys only, and on Sunday for the boys and girls.
The boys' cut was 585, the highest for the tournament since 1998.
The matches for Saturday will be: Mike Lumb vs. Justin Feldman; Geary Gioia vs. Gavin Dennis; Nick Janusz vs. Jerry Ripley; Matt Babcock vs. MIke Hogan; Todd Moore vs. Nate Breese; Andrew Perkins vs. Chris Fleming; Matt Janusz vs. Kevin Roche; and Chris Sears vs. Tony DeTomaso. Both winners and losers will bowl again at 2:30.
Alternates are encouraged to show up for first round play in case they are needed. After the first round, a now-show is a forfeit.
The girls matches for Sunday are Brianna Gomez vs. Stefanie Spinney; Becca O'Donnell vs. Brittany Lang; Jackie Bennett vs. Julie Janusz; and Kelley Horbal vs. the blind.
