I see the governor was in beautiful Skaneateles Monday, with the great-looking lake Skaneateles has by the Sherwood Inn. Too bad he couldn't have come to Auburn to listen to aging, loose manhole covers and talk about the landfill.

Even with NASA saying global warming is a myth, that Al Gore is wrong about everything, this idiot John McCain says global warning is his No. 1 priority. What an insult to older Americans.

There is no greater evidence of the terrible damage the ultra-liberal media in Central New York, including radio, TV and newspaper, do to the public than the people running for the Auburn school board.

If Hillary is really "on the ropes," watch out for "rope-a-dope," part II.

So you think Auburn is cheesy enough, huh? Tell you what --- everybody in this area needs the city of Auburn a lot more than Auburn needs them. So get off your high horse and start talking sense.

" CVN, what I find silly is your incredibly amazing blind allegiance to pathological liars and criminals over hard facts, and that goes for DD, CM, movedsouth, theking, and others.

DD, I have made my case so why won't you debate the points? You have no ground to stand on, which is probably why you won't. What I have stated are undeniable FACTS that are not even in dispute. You don't like agree with them because they prove that the "official" conspiracy theory is the fraud that it is, and you simply cannot accept that. You asked me to back up my statements/claims and I already have numerous times, with links to highly credible sources. Don't take my word for it do your own research.

I haven't made this issue one of particular interest, but if I were a landowner, I'd be very cautious. Corporations don't give away anything for free and they aren't known for being respectful of the environment. I daresay I could find out more if I contacted a few friends.... "

Down in Pennsylvania all the farmers are being offered big money for drilling rights on their farmland. It started out at $27, then $45, then $51 dollars per acre---and it's up to $2100 now per acre!
They're also giving up to 17% profit back on any discovery--but people ar wary, and the rigs make an awful mess, and play havoc with groundwater and wells.
Anybody know anything about it?
Farmer's Gal? YOu heard anything yet? "

" fedupstate--with all due respect, anyone who thinks we are in Iraq for ANYTHING OTHER THAN OIL is either incredibly naive or has been asleep for the past eight--no, twenty or so years!
Even John McCain admitted it. What you cite about our oil NOW may be correct, but the goal is to plunder Iraq's oil and to reclaim the fields from the indigenous people's control the way that British Petroleum had ruled it back before 1951.
IN 1951 the ruling party in Iraq nationalized their oil fields, and BP went NUTS! They asked the USA to organize a coup to re-install the Shah (who had been ousted from power in 1951 as well). The Shah would "play nice" with the US and BP and let them run the show.
The Shah ruled with increasingly brutal repression for 25 years, and it was THIS that sparked the Islamic Revolution of the 1970'2--and PRECISELY THE SOURCE OF ANTI-AMERICANISM IN THE MIDDLE EAST TODAY!
The fact is, America and it's stuffy ally, England, got greedy and basically followed the dictates of Big Oil even so far back as the 1950's, and bullied their way to causing the current conflict now.
If only we had good men like Barack Obama in office back then--they could have negotiated and dealed with the Iraqi leaders and we never might've gotten in bed with Saddam(and then had to take him out like a bunch of treasonous traitors) to stop him from spilling his secrets.
But the bottom line is--WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE EAST FOR OIL.
PERIOD! "

When asked to support your comments, you state that no one gets it, and they should do they own research. You are the joke. With regard to your socialism bender---it does work--for those in control. I am certain that you are in love with your freedoms just as I. I cannot imagine living in a country that determines everything from what I do for a living to the type of medical care I am entitled to. Our government is far from perfect--in fact, by and large, they are faulty in their "endeavors." One thing we must realize is that: You cannot compare any other time in the history of the world to right now. The threats that exist are world wide, and almost anyone can be convinced to sympathize with a group of persons that have an alterior motive to destroy others. In fact, by the way you are writing, I would not be suprised if you sympathize for the radical Islamists. To whom are you loyal--Yourself? your family? Your country? Your ideals? " cm, Congress is OWNED by corporate interests. These guys who make $1.5 Million a year are not "farmers" -- they sit behind a desk and tell their foremen what to tell their (usually immigrant) hired laborers to do. They are corporate agribusinessmen, and they don't do our communities one bit of good.

That's one of the differences between a family farm and a corporate farm -- a corporate farm typically has a three-tiered hierarchy with one group owning the business, one group or person managing it on a daily basis, and a third group doing the actual work. Seldom will you find those owning family members out in the barn milking the cows or out in the fields running the tractor, much less will they be the ones handling the manure they spread on fields (and roadways, waterways and portions released into the air) by our houses. A family farm can be incorporated and not be an industrial business, and a corporate farm can be owned by a family, but the difference isn't just incorporation or even just size -- you can take several factors into account.

But those big boys are the ones who get the big bucks out of Congress -- and they are the ones who DO NOT NEED IT. Those big boys are the ones busy driving the small, more environmentally safe and more community-friendly family farms out of business then buying up their land, ever expanding and using our tax dollars to do it.

They use our tax dollars to clean up the more egregious mess and waste they create in pursuit of their profits too -- gods forbid they should have to be financially responsible for cleaning up after themselves.

I don't have much good to say about Bush, but if he vetoed the farm bill, good for him, and no, I am not surprised our corporate-owned Congress overrode his veto.

Maybe we should call it the Kraft Cheese Congress, or the Sunoco Congress, the way they name college Bowl games after their corporate sponsors.... "

Mississippi river stretches from NY to Idaho, and drains water & the sediment load to 31 states.
60 million yrs. ago the ocean reached to Missouri, but as the sea level fell the river dropped enough mud to create land from MO. to the sea. The new land became LA.coast with barrier islands.
Numerous manmade actions caused a loss of land the size of Delaware.
Series of Dams built in the upper Midwest/High Plains/upper Missouri River(ND. ending in SD.) to provide electricity/irragation/flood protection caused he sediment to be at 40% of its natural amount.
Another factor is 30% of the nations oil/gas production comes from LA. The industrey dredged 10,000 miles of canals thru Marsh bringing in salt water that killed it.
Along with the Gulf Intracoastal waterway, another 1200 miles damaged more Marsh again by saltwater.
The waterway directly dumped the storm surge into the center of New Orleans.
Had there been land there, Not a waterway, New Orelans would not be needing a multi-Billion $ FEDERAL BILL passed.

" theking, are you aware that even NIST no longer supports the pancake theory of collapse and they still have not offered any reasonable explanation for the collapse of WTC7 (which, cm, was NOT hit by a plane), nor have they explained the molten metal found at the base of all three demolished towers (there was none at the base of the other buildings left partially standing with asymetrical damage), and there has been found traces of thermite within the dust?

There are numerous engineers and architects who have roundly criticized the NIST and FEMA reports as being nothing more than a coverup, and the history channel and Popular Mechanics pieces have been thoroughly debunked. Ask yourself why Popular Mechanics REFUSES to debate the issue. Not sure of the exact name of the publication, but Fire Safety and Engineering called the NIST report a "half-baked farce" and an insult.

The 9/11 truth movement does not claim to have all the answers, and there are kooks and disinformation agents within the movement. But they are outweighed by mostly very highly thoughtful and intelligent experts and amateurs alike who do not believe the official conspiracy theory because it is so obvious that it is a load of nonsense, and demonstrably so. All you need to do is open your eyes, understand some basic physics, and have a deeper understanding of the history of our government and false flag operations (lookup gulf of tonkin, and operation northwoods(planned but not implemented) for just a couple of examples).

Although I am not an expert in engineering, I did study it and have a good understanding of how buildings are designed and put together. Based on my understanding, I'll side with Richard Gage at ae911truth.org . Watch his videos with an open mind, and you'll understand why more than 9 out of 10 engineers and architects that come to his presentations end up signing on.

AS for the pentagon, read what Barbara Honneger [sp?] has to say about the matter, especially the testimony from April Gallop. She has done extensive research. She used to work under the Reagan administration, and hardly what you would call a liberal. "

I have personally spent all of my time trying to get parents and children out in the community whether it be fitness or reading type events. The problem is there is too much me me me. Auburn does need everyone high horse or not. It is that attitude on why Auburn is falling apart. Then you have Auburn with a big vote to allocate money towards capital improvements of a hardly used stadium behind a red flagged school. Like I say with everything the PROOF IS IN THE RESULTS! If Auburn was getting results it would be one thing but what has Auburn showed us? That they can provide a cracking school infrastructure. That 4 out of every ten kids may not even graduate from high school? Maybe more should get on their high horse and care rather than fight political battles all day and night. Again the Proof is in the results and I challenge everyone to get out and save our town. It won't be saved with fringe capital improvements. I will jump on board with what Auburn does when Auburn has the children as their #1 priority. "

" In the big picture we DO have the BEST country in the world!
Over the years we have let our morals/values slide. We replaced material must haves over time with our children. We replaced family dinner time with fast-food. We have let the small few take away our religious freedoms.
We used to be fairly universal. Your word was your word and a handshake meant it bonded. Life now is more cut-throat and backstabbing. You can only trust a handful.
Crime and violence have consumed the later baby boomers instead of help thy neighbor. The laws for these offenses are either so far left or so far right, state to state laws/amendments differ so radically. TOO many "activists"
Discipline for children is almost non-existent. Parents don't let kids take responsibility for their actions.
Parents don't take responsibility for their kids-financially or emotionally. They pawn them off to a sitter/school/social programs/TV or video game.
Then of course MONEY, which is basically the cause of most fallouts in every aspect of our lives.
APPRECIATION seems to be a key factor too. We take for granted what we do have. Something everyday seems "greener" somewhere else. So we think until we actually live it!
Yes our country, and WE have faults but I still would NOT want to live in any other country!

“Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along,” the President said to the country’s legislative body, “We have heard this foolish delusion before. As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: ‘Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.’ We have an obligation to call this what it is –- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history.”

Regulations from D.C. make it virtually impossible for small business owners to cover their employees. Thanks to government interference in the health care market, many Americans, including the unemployed and those who work for small businesses, cannot afford health insurance. This causes the uninsured to seek basic medical care at already overcrowded emergency rooms, further driving up health care costs and causing premiums to rise for those with insurance. The federal government will not suddenly become efficient managers if universal health care is instituted. Government health care only means long waiting periods, lack of choice, poor quality, and frustration. Many Canadians, fed up with socialized medicine, come to the U.S. in order to obtain care. Socialized medicine will not magically work here. Theres your awesome healthcare Karla.

" Oh noes, its the global warming!
(From the Charlotte Observer)
At the first Earth Day celebration, in 1969, environmentalist Nigel Calder warned, "The threat of a new ice age must now stand alongside nuclear war as a likely source of wholesale death and misery for mankind." C.C. Wallen of the World Meteorological Organization said, "The cooling since 1940 has been large enough and consistent enough that it will not soon be reversed."

In 1968, Paul Ehrlich, Vice President Gore's hero and mentor, predicted there would be a major food shortage in the U.S. and "in the 1970s ... hundreds of millions of people are going to starve to death." Ehrlich said 65 million Americans would die of starvation between 1980 and 1989, and by 1999 the U.S. population would have declined to 22.6 million. Ehrlich's predictions about England were gloomier: "If I were a gambler, I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000."

World `likely to be ruined' by 2000

In 1972, a report was written for the Club of Rome warning the world would run out of gold by 1981, mercury and silver by 1985, tin by 1987 and petroleum, copper, lead and natural gas by 1992. Gordon Taylor, in his 1970 work "The Doomsday Book," said Americans were using 50 percent of the world's resources and "by 2000 they [Americans] will, if permitted, be using all of them." In 1975, the Environmental Fund took out full-page ads warning, "The World as we know it will likely be ruined by the year 2000."Harvard University biologist George Wald in 1970 warned, "... civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind." That was the same year that Sen. Gaylord Nelson warned, in Look Magazine, that by 1995 "... somewhere between 75 and 85 percent of all the species of living animals will be extinct."

It's not just latter-day doomsayers who have been wrong; doomsayers have always been wrong. In 1885, the U.S. Geological Survey announced there was "little or no chance" of oil being discovered in California, and a few years later they said the same about Kansas and Texas. In 1939, the U.S. Department of the Interior said American oil supplies would last only another 13 years. In 1949, the Secretary of the Interior said the end of U.S. oil supplies was in sight. Having learned nothing from its earlier erroneous claims, in 1974 the U.S. Geological Survey advised us that the U.S. had only a 10-year supply of natural gas. According to the American Gas Association, there's a 1,000 to 2,500 year supply.

Here are my questions: In 1970, when environmentalists were making predictions of manmade global cooling and the threat of an ice age and millions of Americans starving to death, what kind of government policy should we have undertaken to prevent such a calamity?

When Ehrlich predicted that England would not exist in the year 2000, what steps should the British Parliament have taken in 1970 to prevent such a dire outcome?

In 1939, when the U.S. Department of the Interior warned that we only had oil supplies for another 13 years, what actions should President Roosevelt have taken?

Chicken Little anyone?

It is just a political football, even the oil companies aren't that interested in drilling there. At current usage rates ANWR holds only a six month supply and will take years to extract. Drilling there only allows us to fool ourselves into thinking that we are doing something positive. Meanwhile we could save several times as much oil by just raising fuel economy standards. The world's oil production has probably already peaked, it has been level now for nearly 4 years and will likely start dropping soon. The 4 largest oil fields in the world are in serious decline. Mexico, one of our major suppliers, won't be able to meet their own domestic needs and will likely stop exporting in about 3 years. We need more efficient vehicles. We need to build public transit systems and walkable neighborhoods and rely less on cars. This isn't liberal or conservative, it is just reality. Part of their reasoning is that even if drilling were allowed in ANWR, it would be years before we saw any relief. They also said the same thing 10 and 15 and 20 years ago.
