I met Sam Goldman and his son Charlie in 1954. I had married my husband, William Emmett McCadden in 1948. My husband went in the Army and was discharged in 1954. We moved to Auburn and I started shopping at The Liberty Store.
Sam and his son Charlie were wonderful to me and showed me what clothes to buy my husband, because he was on the heavy side at that time.
After that, any time I went in the store, they helped me, they even altered anything that needed it. I couldn't ask for better assistance or services. All these years I never shopped anywhere else for my husband's clothes.
When Sam passed away, Charlie was right there for me. As the years went by, I met Marty, Charlie's son, and he has been as wonderful to me as his father and grandfather.
I am sorry I couldn't go to the dedication at the library for Charlie; there is no one who deserves recognition more than Charlie. Hats off to the Goldmans.
