GLENS FALLS - Two Glens Falls teenagers are facing felony charges after police say they stole five snakes from the home of an acquaintance who was minding the animals while their owner was away.
Police say 18-year-old William Gonzalez and 17-year-old Faith Abrams each are charged with felony second-degree burglary and misdemeanor petit larceny for allegedly stealing three pythons, a corn snake and a king snake on May 18.
Police Sgt. Keith Knoop says investigators got a break when a Glens Falls Middle School student who knew about the theft was caught passing a note about it to another student in school. Knoop says School officials gave the note to police who used it to recover the snakes and arrest the two suspects.
