As chairman of the Auburn Public Power Agency and the Sustainable Energy Task Force I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in Auburn and Cayuga County's first Sustainable Energy Summit on May 31. I would also like to thank the task force for the hard work and planning to put this together.

This was a great opportunity to take a positive step forward, to show Auburn and Cayuga County can and will be leaders in a Sustainable Green Community. Our next step will be to create results from the input of ideas from all community stakeholders and members. This will be an important investment in our future and will help the economic, environmental and high energy problems faced by Auburn and Cayuga community.

The Vision-Auburn and Cayuga County will be a leading model U.S. community with a long-standing legacy of proactive progressive promotion of environmental stewardship and alternative “smart” energy technologies.
