WEBB - Police in the western Adirondacks are investigating an accident that killed two Livingston County men.
Police say 27-year-old William Cook III and 28-year-old John Curry Jr., both of Geneseo, died as a result of the one-car crash near old Forge in Herkimer County just before 3 a.m. Sunday.
A passenger in the car, Thomas Albanese, also of Geneseo, suffered a broken leg but was able to flag down a passing car for help.
Investigators say Cook was speeding south on Route 28 in the fog when he drove into the northbound lane, lost control and skidded sideways into a power pole.
Police say he died at the scene, and Curry later died at an area hospital.
