A local man was sent to University Hospital Thursday morning with non life threatening injuries after he was stabbed during fight which broke out at a house party in the area of Franklin Street and Beach Avenue in Auburn.
Detectives from the Auburn Police Department said there was no active fight going on in the 100 block of Franklin Street when officers responded to a reported 50 person brawl at 3:15 a.m. Instead, officers found a large group of people who had gathered outside by the street.
As police attempted to disperse the group, officers discovered that one person had been stabbed during the fight. Police said the man was taken to Auburn Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Syracuse.
Police are asking for the public's help in investigating and are urging anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the police at 253-3235 or Detective Platt, lead investigator, at 255-4702. Police said callers can remain anonymous.
