Over the last year, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office and Cayuga County Jail have provided numerous services to the Village of Cayuga and our community.
The inmate work crew has completed a variety of projects that without their help would not have gotten done. Prior to the village's sesquicentennial celebration last August, the work crew painted the bathrooms, power-washed the Village Depot, and provided ground maintenance at Harris Park. During the fall season, they did ground maintenance, and painted and repaired the dugouts at McIntosh Park. This past spring, they have made repairs and painted the community room at the Cayuga Memorial Hall and constructed the new South Cayuga Little League concession stand at McIntosh Park.
As with many small communities, there is not always “money in the budget” to complete non-essential or beautification projects; therefore, many projects that enhance numerous parks and buildings, might otherwise be left unattended due to time and cost restraints.
The Village of Cayuga would like to thank Sheriff David Gould and the Cayuga County Jail for offering such a valuable program to our community.
