Donte Greene's professional career officially started on Monday.
The former Syracuse basketball player was signed Monday by the Houston Rockets according a report in the Houston Chronicle.
The deal was finalized before the team's first game in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League.
Terms of the agreement have not been released.
Greene, the 28th overall selection in the 2008 NBA draft, was acquired by the Rockets in a three-team deal involving the Memphis Grizzlies and Portland Trail Blazers.
Greene's stay with the Orange was a short one, having departed for the pro ranks after one season in Syracuse. But during that freshman campaign, the lanky forward ranked near the top of the Big East in scoring (17.7 points per game) and rebounding (7.2).
Greene was one of two draft picks last month for the Rockets, who acquired Memphis bruiser Joey Dorsey with a second round pick.
