Fire departments were working to put out a large barn fire in the town of Scipio overnight that resulted in the deaths of farm livestock.
Cayuga County dispatchers did not have extensive details of the blaze available on Wednesday morning, but confirmed that cows died in the fire.
Scipio fire officials were still at the scene Wednesday morning and not available for immediate comment.
The fire broke out in a barn on Sherwood Road in the town of Scipio.
TV reports said as many as 60 cows perished in the fire.
