Nationals advance to title contest

Stephen Bennett, Nick Adams and Anthony Torres tossed a shutout for the Auburn Nationals in a 7-0 win over Waterloo in the District 5 Pony League All-Star Tournament Tuesday.
Auburn advances to the championship game.

Leading the squad was Patrick LaDouce with four hits (two doubles, four RBIs), Joe Dyson with two hits (triple, two RBIs), Bennett with a triple and Austin Duger with a double.

Adams, Torres, Paulie Clark and Kenny Sargent also added hits.

Auburn Nationals 19, Seneca Falls 7

Patrick LaDouce earned the win and Anthony Torres recorded the save in the District 5 Tournament on Monday.

Auburn recorded 19 total hits and was led by Stephen Bennett (three-run home run, triple, double), Joe Dyson (three hits, double), Michael Biata (three hits), LaDouce (two hits, double), Paulie Clark (two hits), Nick Adams (two hits, double), Alex Burgmaster (hit), Torres (hit), Victor Martinez (hit) and Kenny Sargent (hit).

LITTLE LEAGUE

Auburn All-Stars 24, Waterloo 0

Mike Charles, Noah Christiantelli and Hunter Charles combined to toss a no-hitter for the 10- and 11-year-old all-stars.

Jack Burgmaster led Auburn with three hits. Max Pinchak, Brandon Delf, Mike Charles, Nick Petrosino, Matt Netti, Justin Valentino, Kevin Dicola and Christiantelli rounded out the hitting with two apiece.

Auburn will play Northern Cayuga in Geneva today.

BOYS AND GIRLS LEAGUE

Byrne Dairy Mets 16, Vision Care Associates Athletics 8

Cameron Hobson led the Mets offense with three hits. Sidney Alberici, Tehya Moster and Conner Fagan finished with two hits each. Mike Morrissey recorded two unassisted triple plays in the field.

Lindsey Quinn and Jude Diffin finished with two hits apiece for the Athletics.

Cubs 22, Yankees 20

Baylee Kennedy and Nathan Serling powered the Cubs offense with four hits apiece, while Serling added a double.

Eric Kennedy, Kayla Mallory and Alex Blodgett all had two hits apiece, while Blodgett had a double and a triple.

Greg Walsh, Serling, Austin Black and Noah Rielly led the defense.

Sarah Szozda led the Yankees with three hits.

Tucker Wise, Josh Steinbacher and Jacob Steinbacher finished with two hits each.

Mackenzie Wise started a triple play for the Yankees and Luke Viggiano led the defense.
