HIT: To the unique high school reunion held over the weekend for graduates of the former Mount Carmel High School.
This reunion was not for one class, but all of the students who passed through the halls.
An estimated 1,200 people from all over the country and beyond attended.
Organizers did a tremendous job pulling this event off, and by all accounts, it was a hit.
In addition, bringing that many people into the area for a weekend is a nice bonus for the local economy.
MISS: To the report of a home invasion style robbery in the city of Auburn Sunday afternoon.
Police said a man broke into an apartment, tied people up and stole property and money from them at gunpoint. The incident took place during the day, too.
The brazen nature of this crime is disturbing. Hopefully, police and the public can work together to find the suspect and bring him to justice.
HIT: To the Bon-Ton Roulet bicycle tour of the Finger Lakes region, which began Sunday from Auburn High School.
This annual event grows more popular every year, and it's easy to see why.
Participants ride their bikes from place to place, stopping along the way to enjoy the region's attractions and opportunities.
The Auburn YMCA is a major organizer of this event. The group and its team of volunteers deserve some accolades.
HIT: To the many athletes from this area who are competing in this year's Empire State Summer Games, which are taking place in the Binghamton area.
Local residents of all ages, playing a wide range of sports, will be testing their skills against the best athletes from around the state.
It all starts Wednesday. We wish the competitors good luck.
