My husband, Jim, and I just returned to Erie, Pa., from our reunion in Auburn. As Mt. Carmel alumni, we were given the opportunity to revisit great memories from our past.
What a terrific idea, thank you Peter Abbott! The all class reunion concept gave us the chance to see our graduating classmates as well as other classmates and faculty who touched our lives during that time.
The planning that went into this event covered every aspect - traffic control, registration, food and beverage services, entertainment, paramedics and most of all - enough bathrooms!
I do have to say that I was disappointed with the article in The Citizen on Sunday July 20. It did not capture the significance of this event to the Mt. Carmel alumni or the city of Auburn and surrounding communities. I am certain that the economic impact was huge.
The article also failed to recognize the two people who led the reunion committee and made this event happen. I would like to thank Ann Daly Padlick ('69) and Janet Geherin Weston ('64) for taking on this enormous task.
Kudos to Ann and Janet, as well as, everyone else involved in creating this “once in a lifetime” event.
