On the night of Tuesday, Oct. 7, at around 7 p.m., my daughter Bailey and I were driving home on Route 90 in Union Springs when we hit a deer. We were both very shaken up and frightened, then some very sincere people stopped to make sure we were OK.

We would like to thank those people, it meant very much to us.

First, was the kind women who must have seen us hit the deer and came back to make sure we were OK.

Second, was my dear friend Donna Orchard. You'll never know how much I needed to hear a familiar voice in such a scary situation.

Third, was a very kind gentleman from Hibiscus Harbor. You had such a calming and reassuring voice. It made us feel a little better about hitting the poor deer.

And thank you for moving the deer out of the road. I don't think my daughter could take seeing him get hit again.

Fourth, were the sheriff's officers who responded. You were very kind and thoughtful, not only to me but to Bailey as well.

Lastly to my brother Mark, who with the help of God, kept Bailey and I safe that night. Thanks Mark for watching over us!
