Auburn police have charged a 17-year-old Auburn resident with felony sex abuse of a 9-year-old.

Chester A. Morabito, of 16 Owasco St., is accused of having sexual contact with the child during the month of September, the Auburn Police Department said in a press release. Police said the abuse took place at undisclosed city residence.

Morabito is charged with first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arrested Wednesday afternoon at the Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES campus at 1879 W. Genesee St. Road.
