AUBURN - A local woman who originally faced 15 felony drug related charges pleaded guilty in Cayuga County Court Thursday to one count of attempted sale of a controlled substance, a felony.

Krista Huey, 23, of Auburn, admitted that she attempted to sell cocaine to a confidential informant within city limits in August 2007 for $150.

Citing her lack of a criminal history, Leone sentenced Huey to one year in prison with two years of post release supervision. With credit for time already served, Huey may only spend eight months in prison. She will also have to pay $150 in restitution.

"I don't think you're an inherently bad person. I do believe you make inherently bad choices all the time," Leone said. "From the people you hang around with to the choices you make."

Cayuga County District Attorney Jon Budelmann said it is believed that Huey had a romantic relationship with her co-defendent, Luyette Wilder, 34 of 14 Grover St., apartment 1, Auburn, who pleaded not guilty on Dec. 23 to four counts of possessing a narcotic drug.

Budelmann previously said that Wilder is accused of setting up drug deals while Huey made the actual transactions.
