Two Syracuse men were arrested by the Auburn Police Department on charges they robbed a Meadowbrook Drive home at gunpoint on Sunday, police said.
Laquan Alfonso Davis, 20, of 224 Furman St., lower apartment, and Tyrone E. Hines Jr., 21, of 116 Minerva St., apartment 2, are accused of brandishing a silver revolver and a short rifle in order to force five victims into a room, where they were robbed of their personal belongings at 3 a.m., police said.
Davis and Hines were guests at the home during a party earlier that night, police said.
The pair were arrested later Sunday after a Woodlawn Avenue resident called police and reported that two men were knocking on his door trying to enter his home, police said. When police arrived at they scene, they found the two firearms near the front door of the Woodlawn home and found personal identification, money and other property on one of the men that was reported stolen during the Meadowbrook Drive robbery.
Both men were charged with first-degree criminal use of a firearm and first-degree robbery, both felonies, police said. Hines was also charged with violating his parole, which stemmed from an attempted felony assault conviction in 2005.
Hines also faces additional charges for giving police a fake name, police said. They discovered Hines real identity after they checked his fingerprints with the state Department of Criminal Justice Services.
Both men were arraigned on Monday in Auburn City Court and remanded to the Cayuga County Jail. Bail for Hines was set at $100,000 cash or bond and bail for Davis was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
