In response to the letter from Donna Colbert about folks who don't have access to the Internet: The government has moved all their materials online, which saves enormous amounts of taxpayer money and gets information to the majority of people faster, but I understand what a frustration that is for people who don't have access to the Internet at home.
Just about all public libraries have free access to the Internet for those who can't afford it. They usually also have training for people who don't know how to use the Internet or computers in general. Public libraries are also places where a librarian will help you find the information you need - that's what public libraries are all about.
Internet access at home is one of the most telling areas that show the divide between haves and have-nots in this country, but libraries are working hard to do their part to give access to everyone. Check it out.
