The Cato-Meridian volleyball team ended Pulaski's undefeated stretch with a 3-2 victory Monday.

The veteran Blue Devils took advantage of playing at home, ousting the Patriot National League frontrunners 25-19, 26-28, 10-25, 26-24 and 25-21.
“We played with mostly seniors tonight,” Cato-Meridian coach Kristin Shanahan said. “The girls gave it their all and won.”
Leading the way for the Blue Devils was senior Becca Myers who earned one ace, four kills and six assists.
Also contributing for Cato-Meridian were seniors Becca Teska (one ace, two kills, two assists and eight digs), Shelby Klaben (one ace, three kills, one assist and three digs), Arielle Williams (two aces one kill, one assist and four digs)and Megan O'Keefe (two aces, two kills, three blocks and one dig). Sophomore Amy Thomas added three aces, two kills, two assists and one dig in four games.
The Blue Devils started their season 0-2 and lost to Pulaski twice already.
But now, Cato-Meridian is hoping to make the Section III playoffs after a recent upswing.
“This was a huge upset,” Shanahan said. “It feels great, the girls have been working so hard and playing much better. They really picked it up out there.”
The Blue Devils (4-6 overall, 4-2 in Patriot National League) host rival Port Byron Thursday.
