Four local Odyssey of the Mind teams will advance to the world finals later this spring after strong performances Saturday at the O-M state championships.
Teams from Cato-Meridian, Skaneateles and two from Weedsport took second place in four categories during a day-long competition in Binghamton.
The top two teams in each category are eligible to compete at the world finals, this year scheduled for May 27-30 at Iowa State University.
Advancing to the finals are the Cato-Meridian Middle School Earth Trek Division II, Skaneateles Middle School Team B Lost Labor of Heracles Division II, Weedsport Elementary School Shock Waves Division I and Division III teams.
After a regional competition at the Cayuga-Onondaga Board of Cooperative Educational Services Regional Education Center last month, 18 local teams advanced to the state competition.
