A tax grievance workshop to help residents living next to "animal factory" farms appeal their property tax assessment will take place in Auburn Friday night.
The workshop, which is open to the public, will go over the tax grievance process and offer media training on "factory farms," which can increase local pollution and decrease tax values.
A free guide that outlines different appeal routes for an unsuccessful grievance, a listing of studies and articles on factory farms in addition to other resources will be given out for free to visitors.
The workshop, which is sponsored by the Citizens Campaign for the Environment, the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic at Vermont Law School and the law office of Gary Abraham, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 17, at the Holiday Inn, 75 North St., Auburn.
For more information call 472-1339, (518) 339-2853 or (802) 831-1123.
