Auburn's Bob Gage carded a 79 and finished third out of 62 golfers at the Section III, Class A-2 golf championships Monday at Rogues' Roost Golf and Country Club.
The Maroons placed second in the nine-team field, finishing with a team score of 421, one stroke behind Whitesboro.
With the finish, Gage qualifies to play Thursday in the Section III championships at Seven Oaks Golf Course at Colgate University.
Auburn's Harrison Davenport shot an 82 and Bob Dushatinski had an 85, and both will join Gage at Seven Oaks.
James Cutillo (87) and Stephen Dec (88) also played well for Auburn.
The Port Byron boys golf team placed fourth out of nine teams, with an overall score of 482, at the Section III Class C-2 championships at Barker Brook Golf Club in Oriskany Falls Monday.
Freshman Andy Leary qualified for his first trip to the sectional finals, shooting an 89. Leary is Port Byron's first golfer to qualify since the program started three years ago.
Also playing well for the Panthers were Josh Malenick with a 91 and Dan O'Hara shot a 92.
At the Section IV, Class C tournament at Maple Hill Golf Course in Marathon, Southern Cayuga finished third overall with a team score of 440, Union Springs finished eighth with a 473 and Moravia took 13th with a 505. Lansing was the overall winner.
Individually, Southern Cayuga's Lewis Morse took fourth out of 60 golfers, carding a 77, Jordan Dean shot an 84, Union Springs' Michael Bean took an 88 and Moravia's Chip Withers had a 90.
Union Springs, Southern Cayuga and Moravia will travel to Soaring Eagles Golf Club, in Horseheads, for the IAC tournament Wednesday.
