An Owasco man who police say threatened his ex-girlfriend with a knife and tried to push her out a second story window was charged with five felonies, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Matthew Joseph Mallory, 22, of 5126 Route 38A, is accused of breaking into the 16-year-old's house in the area of Orchard and Jefferson streets at 8 a.m. June 5, violating a full stay away order of protection, police said.
When the girl tried to call police, Matthew is accused of snatching her cell phone and throwing it away, police said.
The girl suffered minor injures during the ensuing struggle in which Mallory is accused of threatening her with a knife and attempting to push her out a window, police said.
The victim declined medical treatment at the scene, police said.
Mallory fled the scene before police arrived, but was apprehended on Thursday without incident, police said.
Mallory was charged with first-degree burglary, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree assault, first-degree unlawful imprisonment and first-degree criminal contempt, all felonies. He is also charged with the second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal mischief, both misdemeanors.
Mallory was arraigned in Auburn City Court where bail was set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond.
