All residents of the entire county will be affected if and when land in trust is granted to the Cayuga Indian Nation. Our tax base will begin shrinking, and as it does, taxes will increase countywide.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs is taking comments and concerns until Monday, July 6. If you have concerns, let them know before the deadline. After that date the general public will never be given another opportunity to express itself. Comments must be mailed to Franklin Keel, Regional Director, Eastern Regional Office, Bureau of Indian Affairs, 545 Marriott Drive, Suite 700, Nashville, TN 37214. You can also fax your message to (615) 564-6701.
Your communication must include your name, return address and the caption “DEIS Comments, Cayuga Indian Nation of New York Trust Acquisition Project” on the first page of your written comments.
