Police officers surrounded an area on Jordan Road in the Town of Skaneateles Friday evening and nearby residents were asked to stay in their homes while Onondaga County State Police handled a dangerous incident.
Police in the village of Skaneateles said that a domestic incident had escalated to the point where an armed man left a home and made threats against police officers.

A reverse 911 alert was sent out to residents warning of "an armed incident," State Police said.

Skaneateles police said that officers had surrounded the area where the man was believed to have been, but that officers at about 9:20 p.m. appeared to be preparing to leave the scene.

Additional details were not immediately available.
