Two Genoa men were arrested by the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office as deputies raided two clandestine methemphetamine labs Monday, deputies said Tuesday.
The labs were discovered on Gunn Road in the town of Genoa, which resulted in the search of two neighboring residences at 3075 and 3068 Gunn Road.

During the search, authorities seized methamphetamine production equipment and chemicals, deputies said.

The sheriff's office was aided by the state police and the Fingerlakes Drug Task Force in addition to the Auburn Fire Department, Genoa Fire Department, Four Town Ambulance and the Cayuga County Emergency Management Office.

Chad M. Bower, 28, and Mark L. Walter, 41, were both charged with third-degree felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine. Bower, of 3075 Gunn Road, was also charged with two counts of third-degree felony unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

Both men were arraigned in the Town of Venice Court Monday night.

Bower remains in the custody at the Cayuga County Jail in lieu of bail, which was set at $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond, while Walter was released on a court order, deputies said.

Additional charges and arrests are pending, deputies said.

" FOR EVERY CHOICE, YOU FACE A CONSEQUENCE. THESE PEOPLE MADE THEIR CHOICE AND NOW WILL SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCE. ULTIMATELY MY CONCERN IS NOT FOR THESE MEN OR THEIR GIRLFRIENDS, BUT FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE WOMEN THAT LIVED AT THESE HOUSES. HOW COULD YOU PUT CHILDREN IN DANGER LIKE THAT? I HOPE THAT THESE KIDS ARE TAKEN FAR AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE AND GIVEN A CHANCE AT A GOOD LIFE.

I LOVE HOW NO ONE MENTIONS THIS...JUST THAT TWO MEN WERE BUSTED FOR METH! WHAT ABOUT THE WOMEN THAT WERE RIGHT THERE ALONG SIDE THEM WITH SMALL CHILDREN TOO!

ANOTHER LOSER CAUGHT, ANOTHER DRUG BUST MADE...EQUALS ONE STEP CLOSER TO CLEANING UP THE TOWN FOR OUR FUTURE...OUR CHILDREN. "

" Good job king you can even spell Genoa. Not everyone in Genoa is doing this. It is about time people started stepping up and cleaning up the town. There is a lot of good people and great business in GENOA not Genoha. "
