Auburn native Liz Mahoney was named the CUNY Athletic Conference's women's runner of the year. A freshman at Hunter College, Mahoney won the 6K Championship meet with a time of 24:53.
She captured a gold medal in the championship meet, as she ran the third fastest time in the history of the conference championships, which were held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx Oct. 25. Mahoney also became just the third female runner to cover the course in less than 25 minutes.
