The second Great New York State Fair Grandstand act was announced Tuesday and it's another big name in country music.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that country music star Brad Paisley will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21 — opening night of the 2014 fair. Country music singers Randy Houser and Charlie Worsham will open the show for Paisley.

"Every year the Great New York State Fair brings nearly one million visitors to the Syracuse area, providing a tremendous boost in tourism and economic activity for upstate New York," Cuomo said in a statement. "Brad Paisley is the latest addition to this year's lineup as the state fair continues to deliver on its promise of providing top-quality entertainment."

Paisley joins fellow country music star Jason Aldean on this year's Grandstand lineup. Aldean, along with opening acts Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr, will perform Saturday, Aug. 30 at the fair

"Our second Grandstand announcement is yet another home run," acting state Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball said. "We are very happy to have Brad Paisley back at the Fairgrounds and we are hard at work on even more great entertainment announcements, so stay tuned."

This isn't the first time Paisley has performed at the fair. His first appearance was in 2000, when he performed on the Chevy Court stage. That performance, like his 2014 concert, was on opening night.

Paisley has recorded nine albums, including "Wheelhouse," which was released in 2013. His first single from the album, "Southern Comfort Zone," was a hit on the country music charts in 2013.

Throughout his career, Paisley has won several awards, including three Grammys and 14 Academy of Country Music awards. The Academy named him top male vocalist five years in a row from 2007 to 2011.

Tickets for Paisley's concert will go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 29. Tickets will be available online at or at the state fair box office. Paisley will hold a special private sale for members of his fan club beginning March 19.

Ticket prices range from $45 to $65. There will also be $85 standing-area tickets available only for members of Paisley's fan club. The standing-only areas will be located between the stage and a semicircle-shaped thrust.

This year's fair runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 1. More information about the fair can be found at
