Former vice president and 2000 Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore will headline a fundraiser benefiting a committee supporting Democratic candidates and incumbents running in New York congressional districts.

According to an invitation posted on Sunlight Foundation's Party Time blog, the fundraiser will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 4 in New York City.

U.S. Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will join Gore at the fundraiser. Pelosi served as Speaker of the House from 2007 to 2011. Israel heads the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the House Democrats' political arm.

The money raised will go to the DCCC's Committee for Battleground NY Victory Fund. Tickets range in price from $250 for one guest to $20,000 for "event chairs."

Democratic candidate Dan Maffei, who is challenging U.S. Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle, R-Onondaga Hill, in the 24th Congressional District, is one of the candidates scheduled to attend, according to the invite.
