There will be a new voice for the Auburn Doubledays this season.

Eli Pearlstein will join the Doubledays for the 2012 season as public address announcer at Falcon Park for home games and the radio play-by-play man for all away games.

The away games will air on WAUB 98.1FM and 1590AM.

Pearlstein spent the winter in Washington, D.C., where he was the play-by-play broadcaster for the University of the District of Columbia for men's and women's lacrosse. Before that, he was the No. 2 broadcaster for the Kannapolis Intimidators, a Single-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.

Pearlstein also spent time as a video intern and pre-game host for the Aberdeen Ironbirds of the New York-Penn League.

"I have heard Doubledays fans are some of the best and most passionate in baseball, so having the opportunity to interact with them all summer will certainly be a rewarding experience!" Pearlstein said in a press release.

The Doubledays' 2012 season kicks off on June 18 in Batavia. Their first home game will be the next night, also against the Muckdogs.
