Felix Mucedola, Paolo Saltarello, Vito Charella and Mike Rosa, of Auburn, were invited to attend the 150th anniversary celebration of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Rochester Sept. 22. Cardinal Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York, was the principal celebrant and homilist. Bishop Salvatore Matano, of Rochester, attended the elaborate ceremony along with nine other bishops and many priests, deacons and seminarians from the state. Prayers were said in six different languages, with Saltarello reading from the altar in his native Italian. Dolan, who is also fluent in Italian, said after the ceremony that he especially loved hearing Saltarello speak the language.
