Syracuse Stage's production of "Hairspray," continuing through Jan. 4, is flowing with roles for Auburn's own Carey Eidel.
The executive director of Auburn Public Theater is making his first stage appearance in two years in the eight-time Tony Award-winning '60s-set Broadway musical. Filled with loud colors and large hair, the show tells the story of Tracy Turnblad and the social revolution she stirs up with her appearance on the Corny Collins TV show.
Eidel plays Mr. Pinky, Mr. Spritzer, the Principal, the Gym Teacher, the Jail Guard and the Newscaster.
The theater is located at 820 E. Genesee St., Syracuse (distance from downtown Auburn: 29 miles).
Show tickets are $18 to $51.
