A concert by some of central New York's best trombonists will support an after-school program at Christ United Methodist Church of Locke and Moravia.
Bones East will perform at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the church, 36 Church St., Moravia. The ensemble features 12 to 20 professional, amateur and student players on tenor, symphonic and bass trombones. Arranged in four-part harmony, the players function like a chorus with up to 12 separate individual parts. Bones East was founded in the early '80s by Howard Kelley, who also founded the Skaneateles Community Band.

Bones East will perform several pieces written for it by local musician Tom Camp, including "Navy Hymn," "Going Home" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee." Other selections will include "The Star Spangled Banner" and "Get Me to the Church on Time."
Admission to the concert is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served. An offering will also be taken to support the church's 180 Kid Time program.
