St. Mary's Church in Auburn is hosting an East Regional (parishes and priests in Cayuga and Tompkins counties) Mass of Thanksgiving for the Pontificate of Pope Benedict XVI at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, the eve of his retirement.

According to a news release from the Diocese of Rochester, the Mass will be con-celebrated, with two vested deacons assisting. The Mass parts will be sung in Gregorian chant with two choirs and two organs. About 20 members of the Color Guard of the Knights of Columbus will be in procession.
