In October, the Auburn Police Department made 143 arrests, filed 484 charges and responded to 1,895 calls for service — all down from September. Officers investigated five assaults, 86 larcenies and four sex offenses, also down from the previous month.

Although some categories required fewer investigations in October, a few saw an increase in activity. Last month, the APD investigated 115 cases of domestic violence, 37 missing-person complaints and one robbery. In addition, two officers were injured on duty.

The number of parking tickets handed out increased, numbering 334 in October, up 174 from September and 257 from August.
