The Auburn Police Department is requesting the public's assistance as they investigate a burglary of a building located on property owned by New York State Electric and Gas.

Authorities say they were dispatched to 37 Bradley Street after a burglary at that address was reported. According to police, the building is located off of Bradley Street and cannot be seen from the street.

Police suspect at least one person entered the fenced-in property and then forced their way into a building located on the property used by NYSEG to house equipment. After entering, the suspect or suspects used spray paint to vandalize the building and caused several thousand dollars worth of damage.

Several of the buildings windows were also damaged and an office was ransacked.

The damage is believed to have occurred over the last two days, police say.

Anyone with information is asked to contact lead investigator, Detective Christopher McLaughlin at (315) 255-4706 or the Auburn Police Department at (315) 253-3231.

What the heck is wrong with people today?? What happened to respecting others properties?? There needs to be stiffer penalties and punishment for crimes like this... Even if it was younger people they need to know and be taught that there are consequences to actions!
