Auburn-based Copper John Corp. has signed a new licensing and promotional agreement with country music star Troy Gentry and inventor Jeremy Hall.
Gentry is part of the country music duo Montgomery Gentry, as well as an avid hunter. The agreement allows Copper John to use patented bow sight technology owned by Gentry and Hall, the company announced Thursday.
A celebrity endorsement from Gentry was also included with the deal.
Along with co-owning the technology, Hall is the owner of The Archery Den, an archery pro shop in Franklin, Tenn.
Copper John is a manufacturer and distributor of archery sights. Doug Springer, company president, said in a statement that the corporation is very excited to work with Gentry and Hall.
"Jeremy is a very experienced pro shop owner and has a great deal of market knowledge," he said in a press release. "Troy is a household name through his musical career and will lend some high profile exposure for the new product launch."
Gentry said that Copper John was a "perfect fit" for a partnership.
"We wanted a partner that could take the idea and run with it, and we wanted one we could trust," Gentry said in the release.
