An Auburn man was arrested Friday after the Auburn Police Department investigated two alleged child sex abuse cases involving two girls.

James E. Quinn Sr., 76, of 150 S. Fulton St., Apt. 1, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse, second-degree sexual abuse, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree coercion, according to police.

The charges against Quinn stem from an investigation of an incident initially reported in July 2008. At the time, there was insufficient evidence to arrest Quinn. However, a second victim had since come forward, police said.

Quinn allegedly threatened the second victim after the abuse and told her not to tell anyone about it, according to police. Police said the second victim just recently reported the incident.

The girls were 8 and 11 at the time of abuse, police said.

Anyone with information about these cases is asked to contact Detective Jeffrey Mead at 255-4702.
