An Auburn man was charged with three felonies after a domestic violence incident in which he allegedly choked a woman, police said Thursday.
Kevin Williams Jr., 26, of Prospect Pointe Apartments, was charged with second-degree robbery, a felony, second-degree strangulation, a felony, first-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a felony, and third-degree assault, police said.
According to police, Williams was involved in a domestic incident Monday with his significant other, with whom he has a child. After allegedly obstructing the breathing or blood circulation of the victim, Williams left the residence before police arrived.
With an arrest warrant for Williams, police went looking for him Thursday and returned to the victim's home to search. Police said the victim would not let officers enter and they had to force entry, finding Williams hiding in the apartment.
The victim was then charged with hindering prosecution, a felony, police said.
Williams was arraigned in Auburn City Court Thursday and remanded to Cayuga County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
