Auburn police arrested a man for burglary and another for drug dealing in two separate incidents Saturday afternoon.

At 1:40 p.m., a neighbor called to alert police of a man sneaking into an abandoned house through the garage door at 238 State St., Sgt. Don Gosline said.

Four APD cars responded and saw that there was a set of footprints in the snow leading into the building, but none coming out. The officers set up a perimeter on the building and entered, Gosline said.

Inside, they found Andre Denman, 28, of 57 N. Fulton St., Apt. 1, hiding in the shower. He had prescription drugs and other stolen items in his pockets, Gosline said.

Denman was charged with 3rd-degree burglary and petit larceny and is being held at the county jail without bail, Gosline said.

At 8:11 Saturday evening, Auburn police also arrested Brandon Frederick Bell, 23, of 8050 State Street Road in Port Byron, on an indictment warrant for 3rd-degree criminal sale of marijuana, Gosline said.

Bell is also being held in county jail with no bail, Gosline said.
