AUBURN | An Auburn structure that partially collapsed in June and caught fire two weeks ago was torn down on Wednesday.
The building, at 127-131 Wall St., was deemed a public safety hazard by city officials earlier this month. Officials considered demolition for the property since a brick portion spilled into the roadway at the end of June, advising property owner David Sigl to take corrective action.
Sigl was issued a demolition permit in August, but the property remained untouched. Another portion was engulfed in a morning fire earlier this month. Investigators ruled out accidental causes.
