Empire State Development Corp. has approved a $250,000 grant for Aurelius-based D&W Diesel Inc.'s recent business expansion project.

D&W Diesel, a family owned business formed in 1976, is a distributor, remanufacturer and servicer of diesel engines and related components sold to the trucking-transportation and other industries.

The company built a new 30,000 square foot addition to its existing factory. The $3.29 million project began in January 2011 and was completed in December. With the project, D&W has retained 155 jobs, added 15 positions and will create 31 new jobs over three years, ESD said.
