Multiple fire departments were called to a fire Friday night at an exclusive property on the west shore of Owasco Lake.
The emergency was reported just before 10 p.m. at Chantelle Marie Lakehouse & Celebration Hall, a property that includes a 5,000-square-foot vacation and wedding venue at 5151 Route 38 in Fleming.
It was unclear which building on the property was affected by the fire.
The first firefighters on the scene reported "active flames" coming from a building. In addition to Fleming, firefighters were requested from Owasco, Moravia, Aurelius, Scipio and other fire departments.
Chantelle Marie's website describes it as a "luxurious vacation rental" offering guests a "relaxing, warm, and comfortable getaway in the Finger Lakes."
The special events space, the Chantelle Marie Celebration Hall was built in 2010, the website says, "and serves as the perfect venue for weddings, showers, and more."
The facility is located just south of Stone School Road.
Temperatures were hovering just above zero at the time of the fire. Wind-blown snow made travel difficult, and plows were requested to help clear the way for fire trucks.
Additional details were not available Friday night.
