AUBURN | A man was transported to Upstate University Hospital after being attacked and robbed at 4:30 a.m. Monday on Owasco Street, according to the Auburn Police Department.

The victim, whose name and age the police would not give out, was transported to the hospital with "severe facial injuries." Police did not believe the injuries were life threatening.

Arrested was 17-year-old Drequan Alonzo Thomas, of Auburn, and another male whose name police would not release. Police said the second alleged attacker is younger than Thomas.

Thomas was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, both felonies. He was arraigned and sent to Cayuga County Jail with no bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in Auburn City Court at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 5.
