The owners of Mark's Pizzeria will be closing two of its 40-plus locations, a spokesperson said Monday, but Cayuga County-area restaurants were spared.

The pizzeria plans to shut down its shops in the village of Liverpool and the town of Cicero, Director of Communications Joe Kondas said. The Liverpool location had also served customers in Baldwinsville and Clay while the Cicero shop served Brewerton and North Syracuse.

Kondas said the owners decided to close the locations because they were "not profitable." He added that the pizzeria's remaining locations were doing well and said there would be no other closings in the foreseeable future.

Mark's Pizzeria still has several locations open in central New York, including shops in Auburn, Elbridge, Seneca Falls and Skaneateles. The company has a full list of its locations on its website, markspizerria.com
