In celebration of the election of Pope Francis, a special regional Mass, sung in Gregorian Chant, will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at St. Mary's Church, 17 Clark St., Auburn.

The Mass coincides with the Solemnity of Saint Joseph, patron of the universal Church. On that same morning in St. Peter's Square in Rome, a special Mass will be celebrated to inaugurate the papacy of the new Holy Father. The Mass is open to the public, and all priests, deacons and pastoral ministers and parishioners of all the Catholic churches in Cayuga County are invited.
