Motorcyclist injured in crash in Aurelius

AURELIUS | Firefighters and other emergency personnel respond to a motorcycle crash on Route 326 near Pinckney Road, Aurelius. The motorcyclist, Steven T. Pannetti, 41, of 4 Foote St., Auburn, suffered head injuries after passing a car heading north toward Genesee Street Road, losing control of the bike and going into a ditch, according to police. The crash happened at about 6:24 p.m. Monday.

Pannetti was transported to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse. Police at the scene said alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident, but marijuana was found with Pannetti. Unsafe speed was the cause of the accident and charges are pending as the investigation continues, according to police.
