AUBURN — One man sustained minor injuries in a two-car accident at East Genesee Street and the intersection of North Fulton and South Fulton streets in Auburn Thursday afternoon.

The Auburn Fire Department said it had to extricate the individual from his vehicle because the driver's side door had been smashed in and would not open. The Auburn Police Department said the man was transported to Auburn Community Hospital. Police said they were not yet releasing the identity of the two drivers Thursday afternoon.

Traffic was backed up around 3 p.m. in the area near Rite Aid and Family Video while the accident was being cleared.

The injured driver had been operating a silver Subaru. The second car, a green Audi with North Carolina license plates, showed front-end damage.
